Fundada en Göttingen, Alemania, en 1985, BIOMETRA es una empresa especializada en el desarrollo, fabricación y comercialización de instrumentos y aparatos para laboratorios de biología molecular y equipamiento general de laboratorio.
El núcleo de su tecnología incluye el desarrollo y fabricación de termocicladores con sistemas Peltier e instrumentos de Electroforesis.
Desde 2008 pertenece al grupo Analytik Jena.
